John has enjoyed a life of exploration of the arts and sciences and teaching what he has learned. Underlying it all is his love of nature. He continues to write literature, compose music, research science, and devote time to protect and conserve the natural world. This website offers a look into his interests and achievements and how you may share in his discoveries and benefit from them.

NATURE

A glimpse of engaging the natural world. Learning how soil works, what nature is and what a native habitat is all about. Learn how to revive disrupted ecosystems the size of a backyard to large tracts of land. See how nature can be healed, promoted, preserved, and protected. Nature from both below and above the ground, and up in the air.

WRITINGS

Literature both fiction and nonfiction, both fantasy and reality. Poems, prose, short stories and long stories. Written for the average reader, the elderly, the youthful, the curious and the disinterested, the scholars and the illiterate. For those who just want to hear it read to them, there are some writings that are read in the voice of the author.

PUBLICATIONS

Environmental articles, botanical and zoological papers, and media editorials published in journals, magazines, and newspapers. Written in the Western Hemisphere, but distributed and read in North America and Europe. Articles in South Fork Natural History, BIrder’s World, Long Island Botanical Society,, New York State Association of Towns.

MUSIC

Piano recordings of original songs in English and Spanish and piano performance of original compositions and classical music interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. Music including the performance of Chopin’s Fantasia Impromptu which won Best Music Video at the Long Island International Film Expo in 2017.

DENTISTRY

John is in his 44th year as a General Dentist. During that time he restored smiles to over a thousand patients, their parents, their children and grandchildren. Many of them lingering after treatment just to talk, laugh, or cry. The most famous saying: “Please let me stay here in the dental chair another hour just to relax from my hectic life.”

EVENTS

Walks and talks. John has been giving lectures for environmental groups, conservation societies, libraries, colleges and universities since the late 1990s. He has given presentations to the Long Island Botanical Society, Audubon Society, Sierra, The Nature Conservancy, Linnean Society, governmental committees, and New York State Parks.
